Hockey
In June 2008, we completed the biggest project in camp history with the opening of our Ice Palace. This on-site ice arena, unique in North American camping, proved to be a big hit with campers and staff. Hockey tournaments, bunk skate periods, and the nightly disco-skates featuring upbeat music were hugely popular. Approximately the size of a typical Montreal outdoor park rink, the Ice Palace rink is perfect for 4-on-4 hockey.
Ice Hockey: Campers are divided into 3 divisions based on age and ability, and the hockey staff conducts try-outs and a draft of teams. Teams participate in about 20 games (non-contact) during the summer, culminating in the championship series. Full equipment is mandatory. Hockey players have their own caged locker at the Ice Palace to store their equipment. Interested inters & seniors can choose hockey skill sessions during certain elective periods.
Free-skating periods are a fun way to stay fit. Interested cabin groups can schedule bunk skates, while music loving skaters adore participating in the nightly disco-skate after supper. Campers must wear bike or hockey helmets for free skating. The camp has installed the latest generation of skate sharpening equipment to take care of any dull blades.
